[maps] random encounter character spawn placement

(1/2) > >>

Tennessee:
In random encounters the character always spawns dead center on the enlarged map square. This makes no sense for a number of reasons. For one thing, if the character has just entered the map square then the character ought to spawn closer to the edge of the square when it is opened up. If placing the char based on where the workdmap travel marker was over the map square isnt realistic for the dev team then the spawn point should either be random or move the set spwn point to somewhere away from dead center. Evene the most non-perceptive and unintelligent wasteland wanderer isnt going to just waltz right into the center of a battle field between two large parties of hostiles to get slaughtered in the cross fire! That is just plain stupid. And it is very discouraging to new players to already be dead before the random encounter screen even finishes loading. Well, thats my two cents worth. Take it or leave it. :)

Ah yes! these  precious times when brotherhood (they are just example carawans do this too ofen ) wanna execute some rats , scorpions or some poor stupid egnough raider  but they kill me  too with miniguns or other mahinegun / heavy weapon becouse im in  center of that event  is soo fun!! Seriously Tennessee  is right, spawning point is in a dead middle  that little crazy ;/
ive survived all tree seconds max at 2 lvl brotherhood vs dogs

Surf:
It's no solution for the problem, but playing in Turn Based Combat gives you enough time, to get out the firing range of those crazy bastards.

Kostuch:
IMO there should be a perception check/roll determining how far you will start from your enemies. Greater perception = fatherher distance from encountered enemies.

Frosti:
IMO there should be Outdoorsman skill check in distance you spawn to enemies not perception.
