special items get "ID"

well, something like if you join somekind of faction (driven by NPC) you could get equipment, like Assault Rifle with 48 5mm, that Assault Rifle would have own ID, what im trying to tell is, if the gun is lost in wasteland(it disappears?) or get destroyed (beyond repair, blows up, whatever..), you can get another AR after cooldown (2-3 days) from raider guy (with ammo?).

i dont think everyone would join raiders for that... one gun only and for loners who have no faction. 2-3 days to wait if you lost Assault Rifle. i think its realistic, because raiders raid, and they get loot. maybe make a menu like with the list of avaible weapons (det can be random, but not over 70%), for example you could choose Grease Gun with some .45 ammo, or AR with 5mm, or Revolver with .44 .

same with other factions, if youre VC citizen, you could get bit equipment for protection, maybe even CAWS, but for that there should be much higher cooldown, like 7 days... then youre able to take it if you didnt take another weapon. if you lose it, and other person found it (anyone, doesnt matter) and you lost it FOREVER, its then your own problem, and wont get equipment till the guy loses it or breaks it. that kind of system possible? :) and if the ammo isnt enough, you have to buy/craft it.

who likes the idea?

I guess any community wouldnt be pleased with someone who just losses their stuff and crafting is not here to get free stuff from somewhere else. Quests, raids with the NPC driven faction = reward, for free - absolutely nope

I like it, except that the cooldown ought to be 14-21 days, and you can get multiple instances of the item with one character, in other words, after the 14 days cooldown the special weapon will expire, and you can get another one, the  copoldown is quite long, thus stopping the players for joining for a lot of em, and the cooldown stops if you resign from the faction in question... and kraskish is right, it ought to be obtainable through a chain of quests, otherwise we'd have one use alts springing up just to get tha free itomz.

then maybe your both's suggestions would improve it :) because if someone joins a faction, its kinda strange that if hes empty, he cant even get a gun.

1) factions depending on your rank would dispense a weapon upon completing a quest. Failing to do that, namely losing the weapon would be beyond the interest of the faction. Simply youd need to craft your own weapon to finish the quest (the same as given to you) or wait 2-3 weeks for another try. No losing weaponry in the wasteland!

2) the higher the rank you are, you obtain more and more powerful weapons/armors, including some faction armors, e.g. Ranger armour, BA.

3) weapons received from faction can be only repaired by NPC of that faction (mechanic NPC needed!) and only through him. Any attempt of repairing faction weaponry/armour would cause the item to be broken. Simply, its construction is modified by knowledge of the faction (like Ranger armour, BA)

4) Faction repeatable quests (killing enemy faction, like VC vs Rogues) increases your reputation slightly (with some day limits) and therefore your rank in the faction.

5) The ID would be assigned to one person only meaning that no one could steal your personal gun or use it turn the quest to the NPC faction.

kraskish- i like that idea, especially 5th, and if person dies, it disappears :)
