As you say Liing in the wasteland so how can I find it? I cant blindly stop at every step and look for it...

pretty much atany place, you can just jump into an enounter and see pickuppable rocks lying on the ground, that is flint...

There are a lot of rocks so that means 1 of them drops gun powder?

You can click with the "binoculars" mouse cursor over it to see the description of the rocks. So you can learn which rocks give you said minerals etc.
