Cutting new keys

Is it still possible to cut any key into a car's ID?

This thread from January indicated that it was at one time possible:

Has this been overhauled in the latest wipe with the rest of the car "features"?

Sorry just lockpicked my own car with a different key in hand and it didnt work.

As far as I know from the Cars thread, lockpicking with key doesn't work, but they can still have their trunk popped.

Although lockpick is working, it currently is not possible to create new key, aside from getting a copy from T-ray.
Using lockpick skill with random key in hand , will not make new one, as it did before.

locking a locker with a lock produces new key.
