Seriously, I mean, does it bring any balance or sense to have a merc with a minigun wearing leather jacket?  Come on laser mercs got teh armor why not our beloved Big Guns guys?

Because Big Guns are way more deadly then small guns and energy weapons, besides Metal Armor has extremely high resistance to energy weapons comparing to leather armors/jackets. Where's the balance? Way too easy to kill and BG mercs are pretty useless unless you like friendly fire.

Yes , BG mercs should have metal armors , but prices will be little higher , i mean +2000 caps , that should be good...

Its very good to use them for PvE.

Secnario: You buy one big gun merc (LSW), give him enough ammo to last a bit, go hunt BH caravans, because he's  the only merc its easy to control without friendly fire = pure money machine.... that is if he doesn't die cus of shitty jacket.

Don't forget about those powerbuilds on jet buffout psycho the likes who can kill your mercs instantly, and is very likely to happen before you actually start profiting.

You'd have to be pretty stupid to buy that merc when the metal mercs can use bg.

As said, its good at it is. With the implementation of the 2.5 critters, everyone will be able to hold every weapon (which will cause more imbalance).

Giving normal HUMAN big gun mercs won't overpower anything at all, you can only effectively use ONE at a time without clusterfuck friendly fire so its not like anyone is gonna go up in BH with 5 metal avenger mercs because it would be of a waste.
