I checked the faq, but did not see this.

I want to check this project out but I have some questions on what will happen to my current FO2.

I am running FO2 through steam, with the Restoration Pack on it. Will this stay intact?

As long as you have unchanged master.dat/critter.dat everything should be OK. Best solution IMHO is just copy original .dat files to FOnline folder and leave it there; it's only ~500MB so not a big deal this days.
