Pozzo, if someone would have 200+ outdoorsman and he mark this option for "missing encounters" how you think he would get into the special encounter?

Then he can choose to not mark the option :)

Are you too lazy to watch your screen while traveling on the World Map?

I am not trolling, I just wanted to say that if you're playing this game - play it, don't watch TV or any else shit.
Lmao with 200% outdoorsman you can get from left upper corner of the World Map to the right lower corner in max 3 minutes, is it so hard to spent 3 minutes watching your moves?

I'm just glad we bitched a little. John Metzger's extremely lackadaisical argument of "part of the game" in smug italicized was breaking my balls (:

Fact is - Outdoorsman is way too fast. Slow it down.
In comparion to metagaming (buikding up alts to make "taxis" which is ridicolous),
nerf the speed of outdoorsman dramatically, also tighten the speed and the usability of the trains.
If players sped, even with 200% outdoorsman is just 1/3 of the trains speed I am sure more people will use it.

As said, slow down Outdoorsman dramatically. You basically travel through parts of Arizona, California, Oregon, Nevada  and even parts of Mexico!
This can't be done via minutes of travelling, travelling from city to city should be a HARSH QUEST, not only  a matter of waiting.

Hey, that faction is trying to take over Klamath! Let's get our faction together to fight them. Oh... but wait... it will take two whole hours to get from Modoc to Klamath, by which time they will have already taken the town from us. Pity.

As for the suggestion: No, because it is already easy enough to press "escape" when the option menu comes up, and if you have the low outdoorsman, that's the price to pay for having good other stats.

I find a lot of relief when I encounter an NCR caravan and they actually don't attack me, and you can just quickly run away.

Please just add this, I have already gone in enough time waster encounters (5 hermits in a row all in one block, 6 caravans just to move from Junk Town to NCR etc), It's just LAME!

I know I'm gravedigging this time, and by a far greater magnitude, but I'd like to look back at this, addressing a few arguements.

Your missing an important point... you have to see him to avoid meeting with him... maybe you didnt, so you just ran into him... bazinga... ;)
  But when when your clicking cancel when a successful outdoorsman check it says "Hermit" ?  You don't have to Meet to cancel encounter. Basically you still met him, but you avoided him.

for example you enter that vault city caravan because you haven´t much outdoorsman.

you think: "damned why that nonhostile encounters not skipable? they don´t hate me. also they don´t attack. fucking waste of time"
and then, what a surprise;
a very ugly wastelander holding a minigun comes in, the caravan realy realy hate him and start to fight against. (in best case tb starts)
and he think: "yessss!!!! nowwww i got some loot and one of these cute blueguys hahahahaha"

end of story.

part of game.
No different than "Wasteland is harsh" arguement, useless.

Nah, encounters are part of game too. Without enemies too.
Same as Metzger's arguement.

Increase your outdoors skill.  ::)
Yet another "wasteland is harsh" arguement.  useless, pointless, and ultimately trololol.

P.s.  Dishonest Abe's arguement - though i wouldn't like to say this, it's just another wasteland is harsh arguement, though in a more well-written way, you're simply not looking at the logical points of the situation.

Maybe we will get better arguements.

We currently have OUTDOORSMAN CHECK on every encounter. Which means, that if you can avoid encounter via dialog, its just BONUS from your high outdoorsman skill. So it sounds logical, to simply set: "always avoid" or "let me choose", or "always enter".

Guys, as Michael said: If you see dialog, you SEE whos in there. So you can avoid him (even without clicking, you need to just wait till some timer expires).

Its like this:
Travel, travel, travel, than suddenly i spotted group of merchants! Im hiding behind trees, and they dont see me. I get the message. I can leave area, or meet them.
