Turn-based, Realtime, Any way to have best of both?

I like RT because I can easily escape from encounters I don't want to fight through, but when I actually want to fight TB seems to be the best way to go.
Actually fighting in RT usually ends with me dead. Attempting to escape an unwanted encounter in TB usually end with me dead.
I'm having trouble deciding which way I'd like to play the game, and I'm thinking that a combination of the two would be nice.
Is there a way to achieve this?

I guess that's just possible if you have a high outdoors skill. Furthermore it depends in which area you travel. It's very hard to escape in TB mode when you encounter critters with high range weapons.

Usually you die in RT if you are outnumbered and you have no good ranged weapon, with my sniper I played in RT, getting Xp fast (fight waste more time in TB) and you encounter less wanderer (TB is time consuming more chance to have guests).
This is why i play in RT, TB is for loner sniper PK that want to kill some noob bluesuiter or not professional miner returning from mines
