Server down?

so like..ive been trying to get this game working all day. using the new server IP you guys posted but i think i know my problem. i can't get the updated game because the updater won't load it keeps saying
Begin checking...
Can't connect to update server.
Checking end.
I'm also using the IP and port for 2238 but the startup screen is The Life After..idk can someone provide some guidance please?

me and my brother have been trying for hours we just cant seem to get anything to work, i hope theres a fix for this.
