Permanent Knowledge.
« on: June 15, 2010, 05:12:13 am »

In the Near Future Would there be a Possibility of a Couple NPC's Dressed in Scientist Uniforms able to Teach You Guns and Bullets Permanent Knowledge, Basicly All the Books.
The Cost would be 8,000 For this Permanent knowledge. Excluding you  from ever needing a Book Again. But you can still use a book if you havent been Taught by a teacher.

I totally agree. One of the reasons this game can be so frustrating is that when you die, you lose everything. ATM, the only permanent aspects are your skills, perks and xp. Adding things like books, radio, geiger counter, etc. to the pipboy as permanent implements would take the edge off of dying just enough to make the random respawn tolerable.

I really like this idea though. The NPCs could be in a few towns (SF, BH, VC for citizens, and either Klamath, Den or Redding to spread them out) and would take the book if you have it for, let's say 5k and give you a holodisc that, when used, adds the info permanently to the pipboy. If you don't have the book, they charge a flat rate of 1k extra.

Or use the idea veradras suggested (if it was him) VC has digitalized all their entire libary, so why couldnt VC citiziens be able to download a book to their pipboy?

Yeah we can give them a discount. I just don't like giving it to them for free.

It would be nice if there were more permanent things in the game.  This would be a good start.
