The M60 is better than a Minigun in most cases. I think its safe to presume Avengers will be made more rare, LSW will be avaialble in fewer numbers and M60s will remain dependant upon 7.62mm.

M60 is now much more comparable to the other burst big guns with its own spin on things. All other things trail to the Avenger, but it doesn't mean we should just give up and allow on Avengers to be used :P

thing is that these cases for m60 to better are being lvl 1 without bonus ranged damage perks for example :D And never mind how hard stuff will be to craft or to find, still when gangs fight each other someone kills each other someone loots, these guns dont disappear, their number keeps growing and growing in gang stocks and its not a problem to get any of these "rare" guns for all factions eventually :> I dont believe you will make something drastic as finding those guns only in special encounters and then situation should turn in the one i just mentioned :> If you want all weapons to be used then you need to make them best in different situations, for now avenger is n1 in all situations, lsw is second, then maybe even m60, and their usage in fights is just a proof of that (and by usage minigun is third not m60):>

Sure, but you have things like cost considerations, availability, perks that suit and counter. Not everything can be solved with one update.

m60 is, for me, in the right area and not the problem.

There Should be a 7.62mm Machine somewhere up North Aswell, Maybe in a Basement in the Den.

Negative ammo DR does not increase the damage, it nullifies target's own DR, which at the end of calculations is clamped at [0,100].

but as there are no blue suits without toughness in fight, it pretty much acts like that :> Maybe just the values i gave would be smaller but difference still same :>

Here are fixed calculations against ba guy who has no toughness now :>
Both miniguns shot 10 bullets so we can compare only 1  bullet average damage done for calculations to be easier
M60  -     18 - 26  damage so 22 average damage. 7.62 mm increases it by 11/10 amount and -10% to dr, and 8 dt, 40% dr from ba so we get total average damage for one bullet which is equal to (22 * 11/10 - 8 ) * 0.7=11.34 .
LSW - 20 - 30 damage so 25 average damage. damage is increased by -20% dr from 223 ammo, also 8dt amd 40% dr from ba -  so (25-8)*0.8 = 13.6

So  both guns fire 10 bullets, lsw does 2.26 damage more on average (and 22.6 more per one burst) then m60 with each bullet, and m60 bullets are harder to craft. So you still think people will use m60? :>

short of giving 7.62 2/1 dmg modifier i don't think it will be used by anyone who can do math.

In closed area at Roger Westin's Ranch?

In the fallout 2 restoration project, a safe house for the ranges is added outside of NCR. If a ranger (joinable) faction would be added this safe house could be added aswell. And then put the ammo making stuff in/around there.

The only other place 7.62mm could be allowed to be crafted in would be NCR/Rangers, if and when we put them in the game.

Oh yes, I would love for people to start crafting 7.62 at the Ranger Workshop in NCR.
