New ammo for hunting riffle!

But since the .223 pistol is a sawn-off Hunting Rifle (what is stated in the description), would there be a fixed description for it, like mention of modified chamber?

Why not introduce a lower-tier hunting rifle using different ammunition, and retain the .223 version as well?
If I recall correctly (that'll be a first), the ammo modifier alone would change their effectiveness without need for modification of the weapons.
I realize the devs stated that they do not wish to introduce new weapons, but I'm not sure this rule applies to this particular situation.
More options to suit whatever requirements somebody has.
Not really any personal preference (hell, I still run around with a 10mm and have problems getting caps to feed ammo for that :D), just an option I noticed nobody mention.

Thanks for the remark, gordulan, i tend to oversimplify statements sometimes. ^_^

I personally don't see a problem with the .223 pistol using the same ammo as the hunting rifle, no matter what it ends up being. All I care about is being able to craft it with some ammo that doesn't require me to do a raid on a mine.
