puh. test 4 melle mercs with supersledges in realtime. and why i should let them fight against floathers and shit?
i use the cheapest mercs just for getting loot in encounters. supersledge dont need any ammo.
thats why i talk about this. its unbalanced i think..
i pay 10k for 4 melle mercs with supersledges and get hmm
lootable stuff for 10k-50k from caravans in a hour. thats not normal.

have you see caravans in realtime against 4 supermutants with powerfists? dont seems so.
just sanfran caravan have a little chance because their lsw´s.
(until 5 people in group you have small encounters)
ncr caravans and hub is a joke. seems unbalanced. dont mean it personal. same with redding new reno vault city.
you are able to travel all over and just pick up shiny stuff from ground.

I had 5 metal white guy mercs with super sledge and yes they are great for farming but ncr patrols will still kill 2 of them before they are finished. As for 10k sledges alone are 3k each and each merc is around 4k so I guess you're making these sledges. Even with the amount you can farm, you can farm way more with jet and a lsw, not that it matters as the vendors never have enough caps so you just end up stockpiling crap in a tent. Also if you think they are good for pvp clearly you don't do any, 2 lsw bursts and you'll have like 1 left.

simply trade the loot into items who have similar prices at most places (stupid example is small energy cells *sigh*)
and travel to all places where is cash. necro sanfran gunrunners newreno.
Edit: i dont talk about pvp. i talk about prices for mercs and to armed mercs.
and a little bit about the massive (unbalanced?) loot with them.

It's not unbalanced that high level chars can own some shit, you can nerf the game into oblivion someone will still find a way. It's vendor cap availability that bottlenecks making money, not how much loot you can collect. Plus you find a way to make the 500k caps you need for a vault if you make it harder to make caps.

I think there should be a fundamental rework in the way that mercs are reworked. Mercs are not slaves, and should not be treated like slaves.
When you hire a merc, they (the mercs) are generally under the assumption its not until they die, it is until the mission is accomplished. If you want some one who does whatever you want, whenever. They expect a cut of the action if they're taking a cut of a risk.
Mercs don't carry your bags for you; if you barter with them, then you barter with them.
