No RP = No sense?
« on: May 18, 2010, 06:05:47 pm »

Hello there.

I will just say it straight - FOnline with no role-play is pretty no sense. I mean come on, gathering caps, guns etc, killing and leveling? Such a things get boring pretty fast, specially when there's no story behind it. I always wonder what's so cool about WoW and other MMORPG games, where people only care about level and so called "pwning" ... how long you can do it, really? Maybe some ego problems are involved? I don't know, it's just boring and no sense. Same with FOnline. Sure, there are quests, but since it's multiplayer why not role-play it?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not dissing anyone, I just think some people don't realize (or ignore) how great FOnline would be, if it was RPed. Imagine being some ranger or police officer (or crooked police officer!), or wanted outlaw, or bounty hunter, contract killer, mobster, businessman, slaver ... imagine making own quests, imagine drama, events, all the situations you can make... basically Role-Play gives players unlimited oppurtunities and options, the only limit is the game/mod limit.

Now, to get me fully, I've been through it all. More, technically it was pretty similiar to FOnline. Years ago group of good people made GTA San Andreas multiplayer ( http://www.sa-mp.com/ ). It's a fan-made, and at first it was all about Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch. Though later, some people started to make Role-Play servers, with their own RP mods. But the absolute phenomenon is LS-RP ( http://forum.ls-rp.com/ ), it's truly the best made RP server in SA-MP (or maybe even multi games in general?). Besides the great mods it also have great, large and still growing community. They got 500 slot server, and sometimes (I haven't played it for a long time though) it's full.

But what really is beautiful about it, is role-play itself. They have a lot of rules, guides how to RP properly, what not to do. Shit, you can't even register with name like "Pwnzor10120", it needs to be like that: Firstname_Surname, like John_Smith ... and that's just a start. Basically they made complete city, with all good and bad sides, just like in real world. They even have In Character newspaper, most of factions, and some players, have great background stories and so on :D They have it all. I highly recommend to check their forums out and see how magical and cool RP can be.

Now, you probably will think I'm some LSRP promoter or something, but I only want to show you how great RP (good RP) is, and FOnline or Fallout in general has great world and potential to become very cool RP game. I'm pretty newbie, maybe there are already some RP "heads" like me, though for now all I've seen was internet slang and talk like "/s crockzor THIEEEFFF!!!!" , "/s KILL HIM!!!!" ... eh, I can't even look at these ridiculous nicknames, not to mention the chat.

Well, I know it's just beta, FOnline makers are still working on it, you can't have it all, specially not when it's not even fully finished, but..

For the future, just think about it... as community, players... you want another DM game/server or something way bigger and funnier?

Peace out and think about it ;)

Hello,
Please search before posting. Roleplay projects have already been made, and even some roleplay projects are actually working while we're talking ! Plus, if you want to roleplay, you can do it - it's not forbidden.
There's already a topic in this subforum talking about it, so I lock this.
