Does this work or is it bugged?  The wiki says it is bugged and I wanted to take it down to The Glow to see how many tiles away do I start taking radiation.

Well, actually Geiger Counter is not needed anymore. When you get radiated, you can check your radiation level directly from the game screen. It will appear a bar with the percentage of radiations you took, in the same place where your charter's information (Overweight, Poisoned, etc) spot.
