NameColorizing.txt in ansi - how to add cyrillic names
« on: May 30, 2010, 02:41:16 pm »

Hi all,

I would like to add cyrillic names to my NameColorizing list (black list actually full with PKs, Taggers, Thiefs and general retards), which turned out to be in ANSI encoding. How can I do it on an OS which does not support cyrillic alphabet by default.

Second question: is it possible to export my in-game list of Bad/Good people?

Ehh, probably you can install RUS language at your OS specially for this ^_^
try Google or something, I don't know your OS, but try this:

or search something else ;p

And cyrillic keyboard sample easy to find too:

Nooo... that solution is soo dissatisfactional :-\

I can install cyrillic alphabet support from the Windows install disc... but give me a break. Is there no other solution? And also, how it will work together with ANSI files like the NameColorizing.txt, where the encoding within the file is codepage dependant?

I think you need simply install rus language, then in notepad (or whatever else) do that, if it's not already there (sorry RUS windows ^_^):

and then:

I mean you need to select cyrillic there if you're not able to see cyrillic letters.
But to type letter.. do you need installed it on OS? Then install it from your CD I guess.

You can use http://fodev.net/forum/index.php?topic=2483.0 to add cyrilic names into your namecolorizing.txt.

Simply use UTF-8 encoding when you save the name colorizing file.

If you want to write cyrillic letters yourself (windows):
http://www.conversationexchange.com/resources/keyboard-language.php

If you try to use cyrillic letters in name colorizing which is using ANSI encoding... It will mess up your namecolorizing in game (file seems to be ok, but it color players randomly).

Thanks for all the suggestions. I will try to sum them up and will report back the result.

Update: by setting the encoding to ISO 8859-5 and by saving the chat log, now I can add cyrillic evil doers' name to the namecolorizing file. Thanks for all the help!

Best regards,
