Rocketball event #1
« on: May 22, 2010, 08:06:45 pm »

Today, in Ares Military Base, happened the Rocketball event #1.

It was easy : 6 rocketers on each side, a ball in the middle. What to do to win ? Make the ball slide until it's in the opposite side's goal ! We made 4 rounds, the three first ones were won by Northern team, that was incredibly gifted ! They got cookies =3 The fourth round, both teams were dropped and 12 new players were able to compete.
In total, 4 rounds were played with 36 different players.
This event was suggested by Jenna.

If you have any suggestion, question or comment, please do. You can also post your screenshots ! =)
I hope everyone had fun and enjoyed it.

Why don't they ever post that these events are going to happen on the forum. I keep missing them cuz I don't know about them until after they happen. I keep an eye out for server msgs but I've only ever seen one, and it a sniper event that got pked. Is there a certain time they usually do them?

We usually got more time on weekends, yes, but events can happen anytime.
Also we can't post that an event is going to happen. You want to know what would happen ? Horrible lags, and maps that are just not big enough to handle hundreds of players (With this number everything needs to be bigger : Spawn point, stuff-givers area, battlefield, etc.). We'd also need more GMs to handle those events.

Ingame players (and IRC) know that an event starts. It's enough.

Hilarious event :D.
Btw: is there anything capable of capturing video footage as it really happened? I mean fraps and such are good but they are not accurate when it comes to projectiles and it sucks to see rocket flying in the air 6 seconds after it exploded.

Well it's because of my computer, that can't handle too many things at the same time. I've seen russians on TLA recording on Fraps, with rockets flying as fast as light.

bcuz rockets DO fly as fast as light :D
time of flying is usually similar to time of animation-sound (except the biggest distances)
