Energy weapons? Why so limited... why so forgotten

Why would the governments of the world produce weapons that were weaker against armour than conventional guns?

This man is wise.

At next stage, we will try to make balance across all 3 firearms skills. So if you want to change something, focus yourself on my topic.

Is it official with approval of devs?

It's not officially approved, but it's by far the most overthought and well described topic about that.
I try to keep it clean and remove unnecessary posts/spam/ot posts from it. ;)

Quicker "fix" might be to change the ammo, SECs and MFCs, so all energy weapons can use them:

1 handed - 1 cell per shot
2 handed - 2 cells per shot (super cattle prods/mega powerfists already have this mechanic so its built in)

SEC - 1/1 dmg, 0 AC, 0 resist
MFC - 1/1 dmg, 0 AC, -30% resist

Lasers should also get the accuracy perk IMO.
