Wait, I have to unzip the "faction" documents, or just paste them unzipped into the FOnline folder?

If I have to unzip them, where should I paste them?

This is FULL client. Installation is 2 points, seriously.

1. Download and unzip the file FOnline2238.zip
2. Copy master.dat and critter.dat into data folder OR run FO2238Config.exe and in DataFiles tab specify paths to master.dat and critter.dat.

I don't know how to make it any simpler.

I did that. Now it pops up an error message that says "d3dx9_42.dll. wasn't found" and suggest me to reinstall the game.

I'm going to do it. Let's see what happens...

But the game doesn't launch. I click "play" and after a load screen, it comes back to the main menu and down it says "connection established, authentication..."
