Increased Trading Time
« on: April 11, 2010, 04:11:27 am »

Well, you have only 30 secs to trade your stuff with NPC. NPCs are usually overloaded with various junk and weapons so 30 secs isn't enough time to trade items. You need to sell items one by one and NPCs not always have money and when they have it you still need to scroll down and look for it. So my idea is to increase trade time with NPCs from 30 secs to 2 minutes. If you think it would piss off people because they need to wait 2 minutes for they turn better think about people who are pissed of cause of not enough time to trade your things and because they can't trade their things they need more time to do that, so with 2 minutes trade time many people would be happy IMO. Tell me what do you think about it.

Raise your barter skill. It depends. 100 barter=100 seconds

I say no for many reasons. One take away from bartering. Two then it take longer talk to vender if lot of people.
Rather see they make way to sort through the the big list of stuff faster on the vender. Add way to look by stuff by category.
Maybe some other feature help find your way in shop. This way you don't waist 30secs looking for your item you want.

Saying no to the increase base time for trading. At lest wouldn't increase it much. I already said why.

It's in the engine and out of our hands for now.

Thinking about the sorting of inventory, is it possible to implement the "use table - force table inventory dialogue - shop table inventory" as in Fo2 with the traders in San Fran or NCR?

I know these target the shopkeeper and it would collide with the two-shoppers at once thing though.. but.. ?

Weird people we got here. They want to keep feeding merchants with caps every 25 seconds.

But since it's engine based, there's not much that can be done.
