Am i too dumb to craft stuff?

And thats what i get: "You fail to create the item" - why? I dont get it. Yes, i doublechecked the workbenches - used the one in Hub and in NCR. Nothing helps.

Enlighten me please :)

abir when you click on the bench make sure you click on the counter of the bench(where you would saw some wood) ,not the board (the thing you would hand the tools from)

I have same problem in Hub. Workbench dont work. In Junktown is OK

Are you sure you're using the right workbench?  The hub bench is in Oldtown, east of the BG dealer.  There's a profession teacher or something in there with it, and there's only one bench.

There are a few workbenches in hub but only one which works for crafting http://www.fo2238.fodev.net/wiki/Workbench should be referred to if you use the wrong one anywhere.
