It looks like a box, exactly like special items or boxing gloves, spiked knuckles, condoms etc.

did you put it behind the wall, so nobody will see it untill you come to that place?

Izual:
I put some of them behind walls, but you can see them (No need to spam "G" key, if that's the question).
I can also say that most of them are not in main towns maps.

There are ONE egg per location OR it can be two+ eggs on ONE location?

so lets see, 3 eggs in unguarded towns for sure, not very many eggs in towns so maybe 1 or 2 more in a town. common areas include train stations, mines, and various other locales.
