Name Changing
(1/1)
Pancake:
Simple addition. Just add a command like "~changename <new name> <password>" and it will say if it's taken or not. If it isn't taken, it'll exchange names after you log out, like changing passwords.
Quentin Lang:
No, names must not be changed. That way you couldnt keep a track on your enemies and particular people. Name colorizing would be problematic too. My vote is total no.
Pancake:
Maybe it doesn't have to be a command. In character wise, maybe there could be a way to change your identity, fake your death, or fabricate something.

Something like this could work with certain professions (thief and such). But in general I worry about abuse of this and already mentioned namecolorizing etc. Its just too many "what if" with this. Maybe something like disguise could be used by thiefs or some sort of people but when certain action is done (steal fail, disguised player gets shot or something) then disguise is revealed and we could see the real identity of player. But even this is just far beyond what we can expect in next year so...
blahblah:
The only use for this is if your character fucked with a bunch of people and now you don't want to make a level 21 char again and want to join them again pretending to be someone else.
Not a great idea.
