No, you have to buy a new mine.

But right now, I can't really suggest to buy a private mine. We will rework them a bit, as soon as we got time again.

back from the grave! Sorry but my question is fairly relevant to the previous one about private mines, and i figured it would be better to revive this than start a new topic

So some friends and I have been considering getting the bunker base, which reportedly has minerals and iron. The biggest question we have is whether or not the minerals/ore will ever run out like it would with private mines.

That is a very good question some people asked me about ingame, on IRC, and I even myself encountered it and have no solution.
It would be good to hear that from one wise man.

Alright going to bump this, as this saves me making a new thread.

Does the bunker have infinite ore + minerals?

Well since you are going to rework mines I would like to ask you if you are considering to add some HQ materials to private mines?

Resources could even depleted after some time, so the price for private mine is mostly price for safety and comfort. Also there could be different prices for different kind of mines depending on quantity and quality of resources.

I hope that by time you mean after a certain amount of mined ore, set per ore.
I'm also in favour of various priced mines, depending on ore:
1. Iron ore and minerals. Available all over the map.
2. Iron ore, minerals, HQ ore and HQ minerals. Available all over the map.
3. Iron ore, minerals, HQ ore, HQ minerals and uranium ore. This mine would only be available near Broken Hills. You still need to get the uranium ore refined in BH.

All ore piles deplete after an x amount of mined ore.
Downside is this could disrupt the economy and crafting system as the HQ stuff together with adv. gunpowder, GMP and HQ alloys will become better available.

I don't think it could disrupt the economy and crafting system at all. Not everyone could afford the mine because of the price also resources should deplete after exact number of mined ore like you said.

I don't want to do the math here, but the price of mine and the exact number of resources should be essential.

For bad example:

Lets say common price for BA is 15 000 caps and you need 12 HQ ore and 9 HQ mineral per one.

So we can calculate price and number of resources per one mine like this:

a) price
   4*15 0000 = 60 000

b) number of resources
   5* 12 HQ ore = 60 HQ ore   and 5* 9 HQ minerals = 45 HQ minerals

There should be little more resources to make some profit therefore "number of resources" is multiply by 5.

Please keep in mind its just a "bad example" and more math is needed here.

BTW, what do you think about the idea of using dynamite at mining? (more resources at once)

It should go to suggestions after implementing explosive level 3 (or mayby wiki is out of date)

You can make dynamite with demo 2. and yes I agree, gives explosives more use than just blowing up bluesuits in NCR.

A week ago someone used explosives to blow open the BoS bunker in NCR.
So there's more usage for them.
