Making mercs more usseful.

So, mercs are meant to protect you, to help you in combat. So let's say you decide to fight a group of raiders.
All goes fine, but then a unlucky crit hits you and knocks out with -5 hp. However the raiders are killed. But what now?
You are laying on the floor and the merc just stands there. My suggestion would be, to have the ability to give the merc the order to use first aid on you.
To avoid turning mercs into personal doctors this should only be possible when knocked down.
A feature like this would make mercs just a tiny bit more usseful.
And it can save you 30 minutes of being knocked down because you have a healing rate of 1.

And they should respawn. If town militia can respawn, why not mercs?
