no, turn based now is more tactical choice, for example you can hit and run a bit so enemy wont hit you then, and with your suggestion it would be just a real time fight which takes more time.

Did you even read the first post?

Situation you described would occur only if after 15 seconds of "global turn" EVERYTHING would start moving and shooting and shit. That would be delayed real time.

I suggested a system that would be highly based on character sequence. Only 1 character moves at a time, before his turn/halfturn ends. After that another guy move with second best sequence to the first guy. so... well.. yeah that IS turn based.

besides, even of you don't like it- it's still a LOT better than current turn based, because simply SINGLE PLAYER turnbased system does not work well with a MMORPG... especially for anything else than small encounters(which still can be a PAIN)

I had similar vision once, +1 if possible to put it into "config"

My vision of config:

combat mode:
Real Time
Fixed Turns/Mixed Turns (Drakonis desribed them in 1st post)
Turn Based 15 sec
Turn Based 30 sec

Ability of choosing between them could satisfy all the players :D

As a general note about combat, it'd be nice to slow RT down at least a little bit. Causing running to drain AP, but not actually cost AP, if that makes sense. Slower AP charging. That kind of thing.

I like turn based, but I quickly become conscious of the fact I'm winning fights by just abusing terrible AI.
