Torment: Tides of Numenera
« on: March 07, 2013, 08:11:58 am »

New rpg being kickstarted by inXile again, blew far past the goal in 1 day, I guess it would be the spiritual successor to Planescape: Torment, it is being based off of Numenera universe, a tabletop rpg that got kickstarted itself.  I just hope Obsidian/inXile are not biting off more than they can chew.

2014 will definitely be the best year for good crpg or the worst - if they will make craps but I hope they will not :) Wasteland, Eternity and now Torment. Good old times are back?

I still don't understand why not a direct sequel.

To be honest the end of the game screamed sequel to me.  Your friends promise they'll come save you/findyou/whatever, you're teleported to this random area and  you pick up a mace amidst a huge war of demons, seriously it just sets up a whole new adventure right there but no...  I just don't understand it, and I imagine I'll be bombarded with people with the opposite idea but really, you cannot look at that ending and not say there was at least a bit of a set up for one?

Still, I hope this spiritual successor will be just as good, and I am optimistic.  Cannot wait for Wasteland 2, soon. ;P

I don't necessarily mean that, I mean if it was in the hands of someone who could make a sequel, why not?

Because whatever company owns the rights to the name isn't the people who came up with it is the usual explanation.
