As in topic i have 3 main problems under new Windows:

1. Pop-up window with information that there isint master.dat file in folder, but it is
2. Missing coursor after the game lunch
3. Black/dark scenery/terrain. Characters and some weapons/armors are visible

My guess is, the master.dat / critter.dat paths haven't been added correctly.

i had problems with graphics when i put texture size at too high value. everything was black.. havent tested w8 yet though

I would guess it's something with master/critter paths. Check the paths, if they
are relative like .\..\Master.data use absolute path instead, maybe look for some
non standard characters there. Best just copy the files to FOnline data folder.

Check FOnline.log for errors.

what i did was: copy the FOnline folder, changed the path to correct adress (folder was tested on Win7 PRO/XP and Vista and it worked)

Then i dowloaded Jovanka client and and moved master/criter file from folder to new client folder and changed the path

Nothing changed, path is correct but the pop up window apear every time i run the client.



Havnt solved the graphic problem too, no cursor and dark screen

If the path is set correctly, try to run with administrator privileges, in case you haven't been already.

Tried as admin and it didnt help, still missing the master.dat file but the path is correct

Well, but it seems critter.dat is being loaded correctly. Are you sure the file is genuine master.dat? It seems to me it's not or it's corrupted. Get another copy of master.dat or try to replace both data files with fallout.dat (Subversion Repository fonline_sdk).

Same thing with me, I bought a new lap top that was better than my desktop and has windows 8

I can play on it though fine as before

Have you tried to use aforementioned fallout.dat? Actually, according to log you've pasted master.dat was found, but the client was unable to retrieve its content. It does not seem to be Windows 8 specific issue.

Added the line with fonline.dat to DataFiles2238 and it helped

I successfully installed FOnline 2238 on my win8 laptop last night. I did run into some issues. I will post them here along with my solutions in case someone else runs into same issues.

- 1st attempt. Said something about missing cfg file? Dont remember rightly. Ran the config files and set that up.

- 2nd attempt. Said it was missing a dx dll. Downloaded and put it in my 2238 folder. Perhaps this file should be included in future client downloads?

- 3rd attempt. All black bacground, no visible char. Some loot showed on ground. Replaced master/critter dat with fallout.dat from aquare.

- 4th attempt. Worked great!
