If you have a sneaker you can look for press gang vs hubologists near sf and vulture loot or you can farm homesteaders near redding for the cells in his cattle prod but this takes much longer.

Create a TB laser pistol fastshooter, farm near SF

steal mfc and exchange it for sec. lvling up a thief takes 30 minutes. its most effective way imo.

One way that I get small energy cells is trading shotgun shells to Buster in NCR.  I believe with my merchant I get one SEC for two shotgun shells.

man, lvl up some thief alt. it takes 30 minutes. you can easily steal 300 MFC at once from 1 enclave soldier. in 10 minutes you can have easily 2k mfc ++. you can exchange it in gunrunners or SF for sec's. 1 mfc for 1 sec. thats most effective and fastest way imho.

I believe that you are right, but I don't want to play a thief character.  I recognize that this isn't the most efficient way to farm these (being a merchant), but it's just my personal preference.  I know that you're talking about stealing from NPCs, but it's just not how I'd prefer to play the game.

So... there is no other "faster" way, you can try crafting(pskoapskoapskoap).

Yup. Get some elecronic parts from v15, mine some minerals and iron, make some alloys.
I believe it takes 6 electric parts and 4 alloys for 100 sec.

Ethnologists, Mercenaries, Press Gang encounters. They will be carrying laser pistols, power fists and rippers. Can be a bit tough if you're low level, but there's SO much SEC out there... More than you can ever use (until they invent laser pistol smg  )

you're implying that playing in rt wont drop you into tb encounter of another player? thats wrong i think, i am playing RT all the time and i falled into tb trap many times.
