Follower tactical commands
« on: December 31, 2012, 09:38:29 pm »

You should be able to tell your follower to either only use burst or never use burst. Single shots from most followers do almost nothing  and gets them killed and burst when you don't want it can get you killed by your own followers. It's also annoying having to restock ammo because they bursted a bunch of rats. Also if there was an option to set
- Attack nearest enemy
- Attack lowest hp enemy
- Attack whoever is attacking you
- Attack whoever is attacking me

Too many fights have I seen a slave run across the map to kill some fleeing raider while he gets lit up by all the other npcs that are within range. The base ai in this game is terrible and its frustrating having to constantly replace mercs and slaves due to their own stupidity.

Other problems is they crowd you, if you could have them spawn maybe 6 hexes away from you when you enter when set to 'stay at a distance and watch my back" and maintain this distance from you and each other. They should also automatically move out of your way when obstructing your path, stopping to push them can get you killed.

And last but not least, an easier way to command them to attack. It's almost impossible to click on a moving player/npc and open the alt command window. Just have a binding for follower attack so we can actually play a CHA build properly and not just have useless players hoping the ai works out. If they would actually pay attention to your commands would be great too, I've had followers ignore attack commands in favour of whatever retarded shit they wanted to do.
