Craftable Robot companions

3D will come all together or not at all.

That is what one of the developers stated and there is good reason behind it.

On the topic, don't have to ask me whether robots seem acceptable. :)

Special encounter in which you have the ability to recruit it, it could be made in a creative fashion where you have to go through some sort of clever dialog options to fix some of his broken memory protocols or use skills on him to attempt to repair his broken vital functions caused by damage to hardware etc. etc.

You get the idea, it'd be cool.

Jotisz:
About 3D items and humanoid models are done however only the default male and female hero has animations currently. Other models do have some finished animation sequences too though. If someone interested and/or haven't seen them yet I suggest going through the character animation thread at the 3d subsection.

On the note of robots I'm not a fan of the idea though I could imagine having a few at the bunker base and maybe a Mr. Handy at the Gas Station but I can't really imagine them at other bases especially not at trapper camps.

I said what I thought about this a long time ago.
I'm with jotisz,a few robots that come with the old bunker base is acceptable (3 floating eyes,2 robobrains,1 handy with maybe some dialog and perhaps one of those big fellas that we can see at the enclave oil rig and SAD)they should be activated using science or repair.

Your lack of knowledge makes me want to kill somebody (Not necessarily you, more like everyone). Don't make me play FOnline again.

Anyway, the topic. Robots. Companions. Craftable.
I never really saw how robots tied in with the Fallout universe. Sure, they are pre-war but since when did people find the necessary tools to create them post-war? Alright, Enclave sure can do it. Maybe to some extent Vault City can do it. Others? Highly doubt it. The fact that some dude from the wasteland from Faction XYZ can create them doesn't really make robots anything particular. And as it turns out, so can the dude from Faction QWE! And two guys from Faction ASD... And some guy with 40 alts from Faction ZXC... You get the point. Aside from the pure unrealisticness (is that even a word?) I don't really see any way they could potentially improve gameplay. Sure, robots are powerful and all but have a very big weakness in the form of EMP. This means that either robot defenses have to be lowered or make EMP weapons actually available. And then again, no NPC is going to kill a robot aside from Enclave and BoS (maybe some crazy mutants) who use rocket launchers. There is a need of balance and robots aren't going to fix it.

Pre war america was 200 years in the future, people build their own robots now.
