i herd this that using proxey gives a stupidly high ping is this true?

That's why most people only used it for mercs.

it would increase ping, adds hops.  Think of "ping" and "tracert" or whatever the analogue in linux is....
but before you think wow waht an easy fix, i'll just look for clients that have high pings and bump them, uh yeah most people sporadically experience "traffic" that isnt always optimal unless your directly connected cat5 like 3 feet away lol, this isn't "lan party".

Also, the amount it would add to "ping" isn't known, its based on (amoung other factors) distance between nodes of the path.  uh oh, this all starts to sound like work to me.....
