Skill respec option
« on: December 07, 2012, 02:19:26 am »

How many alts do you have? 1? 2? 6? One to craft, two for pve and 3 for pvp? How much time have you spent grinding those levels, only to discover you hate your new character and delete them, then start over? What if major cities offered the option, through a clever dialog involving memory replacement or something another you could respec your character to suit your needs? Cost? Free? lord no, since after all the wasteland is harsh. How about 1000 caps, or a fetch quest or maybe a craftable item that requires many easily obtainable pieces. Im not asking to have a shoulder to cry on because ive screwed up my fair share of characters. I am asking for a solution to having multiple characters to play the game effectively. Why should I need multiple characters to support one another to increase their effectiveness?
Throw out your ideas on why, or why not this is, or isnt a good idea.

Thanks for the helpful constructive input kaboom. Some of us dont have time to devote to multiple characters created for various purposes. This isnt a solution for correcting shit characters it just happens to eliminate that problem. This is an alternative to making many characters for various reasons. Why have 6 keys for one door when you only need one? Anyone who has played the game probable has more than 3 characters. why not have one you could respec to any purpose? No need for more than one then.

it is nice idea im also tired of exping my 10th alt... too be honest i dont have any main char so i can say all my chars are alts ^^
one char is for leading people other is max BG Burst char other is crafter and i think of making SG-Cripple but really exp all chars over again is boring and discouraging to play... also when i make char i can make little mistacke in perk choosing or taked wrong skills ect and to repair it i need exp new char ect ect
in wow (and not only there but most of games i think)  every class can respec and they can be tank or dps or healer ect

idea is great and we can make it same as they do in "wow" to respec your all skills you need pay 10k caps...
or "doctors-players" can be usefull and they can do "surgery" and needs alot tools to make it happen

so it is like go to npc doctor pay him 10k caps for surgery or player doctor who have all necessary tools can do it

Supported because leveling is very cumbersome task for a new player but a pro turbofarmer will do it by snapping his fingers.
Game needs more features to support players with less time in their hands.

Was suggested multiple times, would +1 again.

Developers.

If nothing technically is possible, i'd like to volunteer for the post of XP redestributor.
People with 24lvl pm me on IRC and send links to Online status. Then, they delete their chars and i teleport them to a location where they shovel 23 supershits, so they won't lose perks.

It is kinda unreasonable that you need a completely new character if you want to change, for example, one special stat and a perk, or re-distribute skill points slightly differently. Full re-spec sounds off, just doesn't feel right for some reason, maybe because it just doesn't make sense, but some sort of low scale character customization at higher levels sounds about just in time.
