Okay so I dunno if anyone else is having this problem as of late, but it has sure been persistent with me! So I downloaded the client for FOnline 2238, which was successful. I copies the master.dat and critter.dat data files into the actual data file in the FOnline 2238 folder. I changed the IP to the standard 176.9.105.171, and the port to 2238 which is all correct according to http://fonline2238.blogspot.ca/

So of course I run my updater before launching. Updates are downloading swiftly and successfully, until I reach Downloading data\faction.zip. Size: 78829 kb ....this particular little fucker has been downloading for about 3 hours.... its not budging. I tried downloading the client again, and repeating all the steps. And yeah, that damn faction.zip bastard keeps my updater clogged for eternity, not budging at all. I just really wanna play!!!! Is the server down or is the updater bugging out? Are too many people updating at once or did I just forget to install something really important?

Like Mike said, this is a known problem. But there is a workaround, download the latest client (in zip without installer) from http://fonline2238.net/files/ or just the individual file from http://fonline2238.net/update/

okay I downloaded the individual file faction.exe. I opened it up and theres lots of stuff inside lol now I dont wanna go screwing stuff up so if someone can tell me where I put the faction.exe after downloading it individually it would be appreciated.

you put it in the data folder I think, my faction file is there
