Developer have already said they were in fact influenced by the smoothness of the in-game attachment system of Crysis, and yes, they brought the same system over..

Is this a bad thing? Fuck no... how would you rather handle attachements? open a new menu? Lose visibility of a threat in the distance in order to put on a silencer, or scope?

Why are you hung up on these tiny little influences? =D

I'll be honest with you, I have to agree with TLC on the attachment system. It works well, might not be the most realistic thing, but it's good - it gives a good overview of what you can attach, it's quick and easy.

If one game does something right... Why NOT use it, is my opinion!

I think them using this system gives PROPS and KUDOS to folks at Crytech, it's an homage to good game design.  And the people at Crytech shouldn't feel cheated... they should feel proud that they created a game mechanic that may be seen in future games!

I think there is a similar system in Far Cry 3 but I'm not entirely sure.
