Actually, the "+" option is a good suggestion - grateful users can click a "thanks" button for contributed content or well-formulated post.
Because right now, "speechskill" is only a indicator of spamming ability. If a "thanks" were a modificator, many smart posters on forum would have more "speech" with fewer posts than professional forum spammers.
