More Weapons upgrades, make those useless weapons useful again

Please make it so there are more upgrades for more of the weapons,
especially weapons like the 9mm pistol, mauser, shot gun, these weapons are pretty useless and not used later in the game, why not make it so you can do a heavy upgrade on a pistol, and increase its damage?
The crafting recipes can be extensive, lets say for example you want to upgrade 9mm pistol to either do more damage, or make it have a 10 round burst ( using more ammo but doing significantly more damage so it is useful, even at level 24)

it could cost 10 metal 2 HQ metal 4 HQ Alloy, microchips  etc etc.

and why not put extended clip upgrade on any weapon? just have high craft requirements.

I think this will
1: Promote diversity as there are more viable weapons in later levels
2: Give you more things to craft
3: Make the game more interesting, and realistic.

9mm pistol? Is that a new gun? and the mauser and shotgun are good for killing moles for low lvl chars

At this point I can't say whether I'm for or against this, but one thing I'd like to point out here is that you have to keep possible applications in mind when trying to determine usefulness and the guns you listed are actually far from useless. Especially the Mauser is one of the more useful weapons in the game, mostly due to its utter abundance, both in the gun itself and in its ammo, and the inherent accurate perk compensating a bit for low skill, which I think Stalker already hinted at. From an outsider's perspective the Mauser actually seems way more useful than a Gauss Pistol, no contest. Of course, afaik the latter is the unsurpassed (or at the very least top tier) choice for SG in PvP, but unless you want to blow its ammo and condition on rats, the Mauser seems to be a more prudent choice for the majority of engagements.

I'm not suggesting everyone should switch to Mausers, coz they pwn everything else, far from it, but maybe you're already so comfortable in acquiring your main gear, that the inherent qualities of the cheaper weapons (easier to obtain/maintain for one) aren't apparent to you.

Low-tech weapons are called low-tech for a reason. And you are surprised about low-tech weapons not used in later game... Makes sense? Totally not!
