Motion Sensor Mark II
« on: August 16, 2012, 05:20:10 pm »

"An experimental Wattz Electronics C-U model motion sensor mark II. Detects the movement of biological material over a distance of several meters using a tuned radar device, this model was specifically made to relay information of detected moving targets afar to the user with a remote control system to operate it. Shortly before the bombs fell these type of models were used by the U.S. troops to set up perimeters around desired positions to monitor activity of any possible hostile movement. To it's predecessor this model was installed to shield itself with an stealth boy field witch allowed it to be invisible to the naked eye while it's operating, allowing far more better flexibility of it's placement. Overall because of its complex design and long battery life, it was reported to have a short life span due to quick deterioration. Soldiers at the time said it was well protected from the human eye, but not from mother nature."

Maximum duration 15 minutes, can be re-charged with micro fusion cells or small energy cells, it deteriorates 1% of its condition for every 2 minutes it is working, invisible to every player including it's user while active, have a remote on and off switch, movement can be observed in the pipboy 2000 navigation system(map), as well directly on the player map see players moving without their nicknames(like from preview, only inside map while motion sensor reaches them and detects them), preferable distance 25 hexes. Placed on the ground.

Something that popped into my mind, it would be nice to set these babies around the map instead of bluesuit alts.

Dual log sneak is still better because it can track the enemy.

Fastrelog basically ruined scouting. In last session sneaks fought over dominance of the map and the sneak that survived, got to relay information to his team.

I don't care if people make alts or not, i simply ignore their existence. If you put alts as main problem for any feature, you'll end in game where nothing is worth adding or doing - "becouse alts!"

I kinda agree to this.

Sensor mark II would only discourage the use of them because of an alternative, never a bad thing, and i think it's pretty cool in general. :)

Sensor lasting only for 3hours and needing to be powered with fusion :S? That'd be completely unsellable product.

I agree that all those limitations on items are only because the game need it, but usually they are overdone. Most of the items are now barely ever worth it because of stupid logistics behind.

Also this item is basically a mine, something that we still don't have nor there were any serious comments when or if we are ever going to get that kind of item.

Would you rather use expensive equipment or free bluesuit?

But if the device worked so fluently and was easy to access, people might scrap the dual log scouts.

Experimental, military, portable, invisible long range motion sensor, what do you expect? Household utilities for the common american families for more effective security systems for their homes? ;D

It'd be a start.

Expensive equipment. Just for the comfort of not having to set up dual log or cheat, level up countless sneakers per faction, so that a 20 man swarm doesn't sneak up on my faction out of the blue, so what if the motion sensor has flaws in comparison to another character, if i know when they are coming and at least from witch direction, it's enough to take positions, act accordingly. Don't have to have 3-4 sneakers to cover the map, but instead items witch would be more fun to obtain than grind up sneakers with 300% sneak.

I like it. You should make a pole so we can vote.

Done.

I like this idea as well. But for item to actually be useful, it would have to be easier to get then a 300 sneak char. So cant really be an experimental thingy. Needs to be a massproduced thingy to allow it to flourish.

End result however I think, would be sneaks with 75 hex visibility range, and factions would require less sneaks per fight, but with current fast relog, no big deal.
