Marking encounters on "map"
« on: July 31, 2012, 11:07:54 pm »

Today after I've played F2 resoration project , I've got item called "ranger's camp placement".
I've got a strange idea that could give a little fun, and encourage DEVs to write another code  ;D.
So, when we enter encounter, we could "mark" that spot with using item "map", so we'll have that marked on map for some time (1 - 24 h irl), but they would just work like encounter, close after 10 minutes.
First, I'll say that You won't be able to mark anyone's tent, base, but you'll be able to mark ones cart or car.
Also this gives advantage players to mark roleplay places (in urban area) or some spots for meeting before TC (once some guys are with one guy with map in encounter, when he marks it everybody sees it for some time).
Rest can be discussed by you, great community :-).

And why is that?
Noone likes Baserapers, it'll be harder to kick another moron out of base, if something happen, thats why.

I find this argument completely unconvincing.

If the feature you're proposing here gets implemented, it should allow me to mark on my map any place I want, bases and tents included.

If you don't want your tent/base to be on anybody else's map, simply don't let anyone follow you there.

Still, there will happen more stories like with gr1m , lol.
Don't be so nasty, I know you're much against me, but that is good suggestion, but needs to be "updated" in some way.

I like this idea in the term of visible bases. What i mean: Gang leader(or important members) got some magic button on faction terminal called: "open/close gates", so when he hit it, base is getting visible on WM to everyone or turning invisible. This way, with proper securing your base (by set lot of mercs that will help you in case of troubles) you can make safe place for trading, challenge your enemies or just make another place to idle for other people, where you (the gang)'re setting rules, not some stupid NPC guards like in NCR. This would provide interaction and can be interesting, cause players arent blocked by protected town mechanics.
