As far as I remember, the only town that was guarded by players here on 2238 was Modoc, before Wipe - and it was really cool, as you say.

No, it wasn't, though there were some attempts to make it safe. As I took part in many raids on Modoc and also did what you call "grid-camping" every now and again there, I don't think it was any safer than Klamath, Den or Redding. In fact, it was a constant battlefield from the beginning till the last wipe and it became only more dangerous after wipe.

I didn't say it was safe, I said there were some players wishing to protect towns and to make it safe - Modoc Militia or something. I remember afternoons of people waiting there to allow bluesuits to do their stuff freely - shoveling shit, crafting etc. ; if the town was a bit safer thanks to players doing a grid camping, then it was still better than no players at all.

I haven't experienced the TLA server at all, but I've been playing on this server for about a month or so and I LOVE it!  If you love the Fallout universe and MMOs (crafting, in-game economy affected by players, pve/pvp), it's the best game ever!  However, I do find it frustrating that PKers just wait outside of banks or in unguarded towns for bluesuits or newbs, like myself.  This is the first I've heard of players guarding a city and helping weaker/newer characters.  That's the coolest idea ever.......maybe after this wipe I'll round up a posse and try and watch over a town like Redding or Broken Hills!  Thanks for the inspiration Izual, hahaha!
