What do you mean it didn't work exactly? It's the only way I've ever hunted lockers. RT picking is way too risky, so walking straight towards in TB works best for me. It can be difficult, especially if you fail the first lockpick attempt and have all the raider/marauders closing in on you (Especially as my lockpicker is HP locked at 57hp!), but it definitely works.
