Ability to site a construction site on a grid with the Gauss pistol bunker encounter, so that the resulting base will have a basement/cellar.

bad idea. it is just special enco, and what if someone is farming them and he allready found 5 in 1 hexe?

well he is farming them and spending his time doing that. so its worth his while. he will get more basements because he worked harder for them.

Yeah if he wants more than one base in the same zone, fine keep finding more. This idea is not for everyone i guess - only those who would like a basement in their base.

Interesting idea....
But personally I'd prefer simply being able to upgrade bases.

Take the outpost for example.
You could upgrade it to have a basement beneath the central building or upgrade the two tents to be wood/metal buildings.
Other possibilities could be lockers into reinforced lockers or similar to hold more items and a whole bunch of aesthetic upgrades that could help personalise your little patch of 2238.
