I joke around too much [and my sense of humor is odd] so i have found it's best to keep my humor to myself in-game and maybe share it in voice chat. Also as a Polish friend told me more than once:hings that make us laugh hard in America don't even earn a wince in Poland. Senses of humor are cultural and vary greatly over geography. So it's easy for people in one group to say "those other people don't have a sense of humor".

Example: "I got food poisoning last week. [pause] I don't know when i'm going to use it."
To me, that's a hysterical joke by the famous comedian Steven Wright. To my Polish friend, he looks at me like i just put random words together that don't mean anything.

Additionally, humor can be very difficult to distinguish in text-based communication. Your funny jokes [and mine] can be easily taken as offensive. So i avoid the IRC chats now. I see them as an easy way for a silly-mouthed guy like me to just get into trouble. And game staff? I avoid 'em! They are too powerful! Imagine i crack a joke with a GM and they take offense instead of laughing! Crap! I could get banned so easily for joking around - it's almost enough to make me stop joking around all together.

Lastly, as Trokanis stated: Voland just had some fun with you - you didn't get into any actual trouble. Yes, anyone who can exploit an abuse for fun, will. Remember playing Doom in godmode? If the Doom monsters had a forum, they'd complain that you abused your player powers.

If it was Voland, I would say it seems like maybe he thought if he was to be accused of it, he may as well do it.

But hey, shit happens, right?  As was previously stated, you were not jailed/banned/sent to the bottom floor of the Glow for it.

Last wipe I was in NCR, waiting for a brand new player to meet me so I could give him 10 hides.  While I was waiting, Voland exploded everyone, and then resurrected us.  Something like 15 players.  Guess what?  We all lost our shit, and the noob went another hour without a tent.  You know what NONE of us did?
