Simple encountering system

There are people who don't want encounters and those who do. Because encounter rate is same for all, the encounter distribution doesn't meet with player's wishes. Here's how it could work:

If you don't want encounters you move long straight lines on worldmap. This could reduce the rate of encounters alot.

If you do want them, you make alot of turns and twists in a short period of time and inside the same square. It could have the effect of trippling the chance to find encounters.
