I run updater and It all goes well. I try to play game and it says "Datafiles2238.cfg is missing please run updater". I go to view this file and something is very wrong all the text is missing and I deleted it, ran updater and it comes back as only this

"include Datafiles2238.cfg
data\factioncritters.zip
data\faction.zip
data\faction001.zip"

Last thing I remember about this file is it was very long but now it isn't?. I have not played in months and I want to again but this problem is stopping me can I download a "fresh" verison of this somewhere?.

DataFiles2238.cfg should contain paths to master and critter dats, example:

C:\FOnline\MASTER.DAT
C:\FOnline\CRITTER.DAT


DataFiles.cfg as you posted:

include Datafiles2238.cfg
data\factioncritters.zip
data\faction.zip
data\faction001.zip

Just create a .txt file and rename it to .cfg.

Or run FO2238Config.exe and set paths to Master/Critter. The file will be created.
