Better.... Perhaps, but not as cool.
I think there needs to be more content in several areas, including transport.

A slow-ish caravan type with a high cargo space sounds like a nice idea.

With motorhome you would have to do this constantly.  It's better to just drop a buggy or scout.

Or you could use science on your parked RV so it becomes a tent map instead of car park.
