I would say they are more rare than brahmins.

Yeah, geckos are near gecko, but watch out for packs of ghouls there if you aren't that strong or alone. Geckos can also be near Klamath.

how much would people usually pay for the skins?

I see people in NCR sometimes trying to sell them for 500, usually. Not sure if this is a rip-off or a good price though

Fair price 150-250. Nominal price a little lower.

I like to hunt them. And change 4 pelts to Leather Armor, 10 pelts to Leather Armor Mk2.

try leveling up to armorer 2 and 3. you wont need those anymore once u can craft metal armor or combat armor.
