Support Perk Idea - Unmasking
« on: February 03, 2012, 05:37:43 pm »

Unmasking (Or a name with something to that effect)
  • Ranks: 1
  • Generic requirements: Perception at least 6 & Outdoorsman at least 150
  • With Unmasking, you see the name of wastelanders in discovered random encounters instead of just "wastelander"

This could make tracking down that guy that just killed you, robbed you, stole from your friend etc MUCH easier to track down. Also could be useful if a Bounty system is ever implemented.
Also could just be fun if you happen to see someone you are friends with, or enemies with to know it is them, and drop on by for a visit.  :P

I mean before you enter an encounter like window pops up :

You encounter Jackals, Hub Patrol, GuyWhoJustRobbedYou
Do you wish to :
  • Real Time
  • Turn Based
  • Cancel

Not when you enter the encounter, or while in it, but before :)

Wouldn't work, because in the moment a player is in the encounter location, the combat mode (turn based / realtime) is already set. I.e. you can't get into an encounter as second player and switch everyone to turn based.

You still get that window to choose Lexxx (no matter that this doesnt work).

About the idea: maybe support perk could show more details about wastelander: hps and weapon who is wielding.

No. You have only cancel and the combat mode the previous guy choosen.

Oh yeah, there could be also an automatic "easy to PK target" displayed if he have under tier 2 stuff or less than lvl 12.

this makes absolutely no sense. If so, you should insist on remove awareness at all, because you can easily PK low level guy (ohh look he has only mauser, so pewpew).
Awareness, as it is now, is weird, because shows guys name, but not valueable info about him.

It isn't weird, because it just shows guys name, but not valuable info about him. Valuable info about him = you can easily PK low level guy (ohh look he has only mauser/80 hp, so pewpew).

Yep it is weird. You are talking about balance, which is completely different thing.

Im talking about awareness, which makes you aware of what? Of players name?;] You are travelling, and suddenly spot a person. But you are so aware that you can see his/her name! Yay nice... you cant see his/her armor/gun/health condition, but you can see name. Brilliant.

Besides, it doesnt change anything. Low hp 'noob' can be merc leader, and wait for those pk bastards.

So the only thing you should be able to see is armor and weapon. When you look at someone in RL you don't see how healthy they are.

Thats a valid point. I mean, you cant see people HPs, but you can judge health status of every person. You can see if someone is ill. To prevent PKing, status could be like this: almost dead, wounded, and so on...
