Gotta read changelogs.  It was changed at wipe.

Is it permenant or temporary?

dude there is only 2 profs of all profs. you can also only have 3 prof max. its not a bug.
if you get bger prof 2 you can get 1 more prof and with bger prof 2 you are at max with bg. to make more things you need blueprints.
