The idea is simple, replace
this crappy clunky useless "Addict" bar ("well duuuuuh, thanks for reminding me I'm addicted" - JET Junkie) with something more useful for drug users, maybe
something more like this. Ignore bad graphics
Here is the main problem - the original bar informs you when you get addicted to a single drug, but if you have addiction already (and drug builds in FOnline
very often take more than one drug), you will not be informed, because the bar is there already. This means you have to open character window, go to karma tab and scroll aaaaall the way down to check if you got new addictions, or how many you have. JET addicts obviously are always addicted, which makes this bar even more pointless for them than for anyone else.
If you play druggie, I'm sure you know going to character screen to check your addictions can be annoying.
I can't be the only person who hates this
My proposition is to replace the bar with drug icons. Maybe with little bars representing drug effect/addiction time. Maybe not, perhaps it's too much information. I don't know, it's just a concept. Maybe it should look different, but I know one thing - the current "Addict" bar doesn't make much sense in a game where many characters take different drugs very, very often (comparing to original Fallout) and many of them are addicted permanently.
Obviously someone may say, it doesn't stick to Fallout roots (especially the timer bars). But guess what, it's a different game, different genre, with different pace and different gameplay. Real roots are not in obsolete interface mapped 1:1 to a different game. In my humble opinion it's not how you should pay tribute to the original game.
Treat is as concept, not like a solid idea. Feel free to brainstorm. For example: maybe it should be enabled by a keypress? (you press a keyboard key, the bar appears, you realease the key, it disappears). Maybe it's not needed on screen all the time.
